Frequently Asked Questions
Why should I join?
You want to come to your boat and simply enjoy it. BOA keeps boaters interests at all of the local board meetings and city commissions that affect the marinas and the waters surrounding them. Joining helps show the number of people that are interested in protecting our rights.
Do I have to go to meetings?
Although we host at least one public meeting a year, and encourage boaters to attend to receive insights on what’s happing in the marina areas, attending is not mandatory and much of the content is distributed to our members through email and social media.
Where does my donation go?
All of our staff are board members, and many of the local yacht clubs donate their facilities. Still any organization has administrative costs to keep going, these include website maintenance, bookkeeping fees, and funding the annual meetings with the public. Your donation is deductible as we are a 501c3 charity, and it helps keep the organization thriving.
What are the benefits of BOA
We have several committees that are working for the boating community active at all times. If you would like to find out how you can actively participate and represent the interests of your dock, send us a message below.
